About Chris Oliver
Chris Oliver serves as a Correctional Officer with the Placer County Sheriff's Office with 20 years on the job. He is a member of the Placer County K-9 Unit and is working his third narcotics detection dog within the jails. Some of Chris' other accomplishments are:
• Certifying Official for the California Narcotics Canine Association (CNCA) and California Peace Officer's Standards and Training (POST).
• Detection K9 Trainer with DTac-K9 owned by Gregg Tauney, where he works with detection K9 teams from approximately 15 different departments.
• Nosework Judge for competitions throughout California and Nevada.
• Seminar Instructor for nosework and detection dogs throughout California, Nevada, Arizona, and via zoom in Australia.
Chris also owns and operates K9 Furst Detection K9 Training where he trains sport and professional detection K9s. Chris lives in northern California where he and his wife of 16 years, Tara, are raising their son and daughter. His interests are family, dogs, travel, fishing, softball, and craft beer.
